An Incentive to Visit Finland

Why choose Finland for an incentive trip? There are various factors to consider. One important one is uniqueness. Finland has more beautiful lakes than anywhere in the world...and is also blessed with scenic rivers, picturesque waterways and crystal clear streams. It's arguable the most forested country in the world...and a wonderful place to get acquainted with a variety of trees, plants and animals. It definitely has the most and best quality saunas in the world...a marvelously cleansing experience. Then there’s the best Sauna Claus...who is ready to greet you any time of the year. And, a plethora of exclusive festivals, colorful events and cultural activities…even some rather offbeat ones. Ever try boot throwing or swamp football?

An incentive destination should have opportunities for appealing activities all year long. In summer that could be fell climbing, river rafting or hot air ballooning to name a few.  In autumn, mushroom and berry picking, fishing or walking. Skiing, dog sledding, snowmobiling or even an opera in a snow castle in winter. Sunny picnics in the snow, ice fishing, bear watching and the many fun-filled events scheduled in spring. And, the unspoiled nature and unpolluted environment makes all these activities much more enjoyable.

Being a country of contrasts gives Finland a special fascination for the incentive visitor. This nation is at the top as far as high technology goes, yet people prize having primitive vacation cottages. Finns do well in many popular international sports, but they love their own special game of baseball that is incomprehensible to people from other countries. They drink more coffee here per person than anywhere else, yet with all that caffeine they still maintain a calm appearance. The Finnish language is one of the world's most difficult, but they seem quite at ease with English and other foreign languages. Finns sometimes have a reputation of being reticent, but many visitors find Finns can be excellent and well-informed conversationalists once they get warmed up...and you were expecting a bit of quiet, were you?

Moreover, for an incentive tour, there is also the question of safely, security and knowing that things will work. Finland gets high marks when it comes to these things.  After spending time in the wilderness, roughing it at a primitive cottage or getting away from it all on a quiet farmstead, you want some dependability when you return to civilization. Of course, if you really want a bit of risk, try doing genuine Finnish dances such as the humppa or jenkka, or try eating a Finnish "treat" such as salmiakki. Then again, a modern Finnish night club and an elk stew might be more to your liking.
