The Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) architectural treasure of Hvitträsk on a hill overlooking a beautiful lake is well worth a visit.

Hvitträsk is an outstanding example of Jugendstil, the German and Scandinavian variant of Art Nouveau. It was built of logs and natural stone in 1903 to serve as the studio of the architects Saarinen, Gesellius and Lindgren and the home of Eliel Saarinen. It stands in a forest setting on a hill overlooking a beautiful lake.

Lunch is served in the Hvitträsk restaurant with its rustic ambience.
